"I'm thrilled to be part of Giving In Style and know we'll make it a show to remember!" —Charleston Pierce, model choreography and runway coach
Charleston Pierce is a native San Franciscan who began his performing arts career at the San Francisco School Of The Arts. Charleston was primed and ready when discovered by Larry Hashbarger, Producer and Director of the nationally-recognized Macy's Passport Fashion Show. Shortly after that meeting, Charleston was signed by the Bay Area’s premiere modeling agency, Grimme, launching his career as a model. Charleston has maintained a consistent presence in the San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles entertainment industry for over 20 years.
Throughout his career as a model/actor, he has appeared in national billboards, print ads, fashion shows and over 30 commercials, as well as movies, and had a premiere role as the first Pepsi Man superhero for the Japanese commercial television market. In 2009, Charleston was recruited by Larry Hashberger and Natalie Smith.
After many years as a top model for the Macy’s Passport show, Charleston was promoted as the show’s first Model Captain/Coach. From there, he transitioned from the runway to behind-the-scenes as a Fashion Show Producer, Creative Director, Industry Coach, Model’s Spokesman, and an Advocate for the Bay Area Fashion Community. These experiences opened the door for many other opportunities for Charleston to showcase his skills and talents.
Over the years, Charleston has won numerous awards in the fashion industry as a Director, Producer and Choreographer, as well as a public figure, receiving recognition for working and mentoring Bay Area youth in the San Francisco Unified School and for directing and coaching ( M-A ) yearly High School PTA Fashion Show in Menlo Park CA. In 2008, Charleston was also nominated as "Man Of The Year" for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society of San Francisco.
From 2008-2011, Charleston worked with the Junior League of San Francisco as their Model Coach & Runway Trainer for their Yearly Fund-Raising Fashion Show. From 2010-2015, Charleston served as a co-host of the Emmy Award-winning TV Show: 'Bay Area Vista'. Charleston is also an award-winning author of the book, 'Star Walk: A Runway Walking Motivational Book'. As someone who cares about community, Charleston continues to host monthly modeling workshops for aspiring models of all ages around the Bay Area.
